With its long, double-edged blade and distinctive basket hilt, when paired with targe and dirk, it has proven formidable against enemy soldiers on battlefields worldwide. Cold Steel® now offers our own rendition of this renowned weapon. Crafted with a double-edged blade, hand forged and finely polished with triple fullers. The robust basket hilt is constructed from blued steel, featuring a wood grip wrapped in samé (ray skin) and wire for decoration. Each broadsword meets the rigorous British Proof test standards and includes a wood and leather scabbard with blued steel chape and throat.
