The law on curved bladed swords (over 50cm) changed back in April 2008, this includes any style and any period, simply put the law requires all swords with a curved blade for sale must be 'made using traditional methods' to allow collectors and martial artists to continue collection & purchase, straight bladed swords are not banned, our 440 stainless katana are now available in the 'chokuto' style straight blade.
